Shine a Light on the Reality Faced by Caregiving Employees
At Reverto, we believe that building a healthy, inclusive workplace starts with acknowledging all realities, especially the invisible ones. Our virtual reality training helps teams understand the daily challenges faced by caregiving employees, who are balancing professional responsibilities with caring for a loved one losing their independence. These experiences often go unnoticed, yet they have a profound impact on well-being and work life.

Why Offer Training to Support Caregiving Employees?
- Make caregiving employees visible: many employees work around the clock, without ever speaking up. Recognising their situation brings them out of invisibility and helps them feel understood and supported. Acknowledging this reality restores trust, opens dialogue, and reduces the isolation that often comes with this demanding and discreet role.
- Prevent psychosocial risks: caregiving is often a source of mental load, stress, or even exhaustion. Without the right support, caregiving employees risk becoming disengaged or burning out. Training raises awareness across your teams and gives them tools to recognise weak signals so they can act before it’s too late.
- Foster team cohesion: when the topic is ignored, misunderstandings and judgements can grow. Training helps colleagues understand what caregiving employees go through, fostering empathy, communication, and mutual support. Understanding each other is the foundation of strong, connected teams.
- Promote a supportive management culture: managers often feel unsure about how to respond in these situations: should the schedule be adjusted? How can I raise the subject without overstepping? Our training provides a clear framework and practical tools for managers to support caregiving employees, make adjustments when possible, and prevent tensions within the team.
Key Learning Objectives – Supporting Caregiving Employees
Our training is built around four core objectives:
- Understanding what it means to be a caregiver: participants gain a clear understanding of what it means to be a caregiver or a caregiving employee, two roles that are often misunderstood. This helps teams better recognise and support caregiving colleagues in the workplace.
- Knowing who to turn to: team members learn who within the organisation is designated to provide guidance or support when a caregiving employee needs help.
- Knowing the rights and support available: caregivers are entitled to various forms of support, such as time off, financial aid, or adjusted schedules. Participants learn what resources are available so they can make use of them themselves or help guide colleagues who need them.
- Understanding the importance of opening up the conversation: breaking the taboo on this sensitive topic helps foster a healthier, more inclusive work environment, benefitting individuals and the organisation alike.
A Three-Phase Learning Experience
Phase 1: Immersion Module
Using virtual reality, participants step into the daily life of Laëtitia, a caregiving employee, and Bruno, her father and care recipient. As months pass in Laëtitia’s story, they feel the mounting mental load and exhaustion of balancing work with caregiving responsibilities. This immersive experience fosters empathy and helps participants grasp the emotional and professional challenges caregivers face.
Phase 2: Educational Module
After the VR experience, participants are guided through a detailed breakdown of the various scenes. They learn the definition of a caregiving employee, explore key data points, recognise early warning signs, and understand the associated psychosocial risks. This module includes illustrated examples, practical advice, and anonymous quizzes to deepen and assess knowledge, reinforce retention, and offer valuable insights into how your organisation perceives this issue.
Phase 3: Debrief & Group Discussion
To close the session, participants are invited to join a facilitated group discussion, if they wish. This open and supportive space allows them to share reflections, ask questions, and compare perspectives. By addressing uncertainties and encouraging dialogue, this final phase helps lay the groundwork for a more inclusive and respectful culture around caregiving.
What Our VR Caregiving Employee Support Training Brings to the Table
Multi-Sensory Immersion
Team members aren’t just told about the invisible challenges caregiving employees face; they experience them firsthand. By stepping into the shoes of someone juggling work and caregiving, they gain a deeper understanding of how it affects mental health, schedules, and team dynamics. Our scenario is designed to foster empathy, build awareness, and encourage the right reflexes in daily interactions. We prioritise high-quality audio and visuals to deliver a realistic experience that leaves a lasting impact.
Flexibility and Time-Saving
At Reverto, we understand the time constraints of today’s workplaces. That’s why our solutions are designed for maximum impact in minimum time. Each session lasts just 20 minutes, making it easy to fit into busy schedules without disrupting your teams' workday or productivity. Unlike traditional methods, our VR training requires minimal setup and resources, making it a practical, cost-effective choice for modern organisations.
Measurable Positive Impact
Initial feedback on this training has been highly positive. Participants report a clearer understanding of the work/life challenges caregiving employees face, and say they feel better equipped to adapt their behaviour, especially in management roles. While full-scale impact studies are still ongoing, early indicators show that the training helps teams recognise and respond more thoughtfully to the realities caregiving employees navigate. We’re committed to measuring and improving our impact over time.
