Raise Awareness of Invisible Disabilities in the Workplace
In today’s workplace, inclusion is more important than ever, and disability awareness training is a key step toward building a truly inclusive culture. At Reverto, we use the unique immersive power of virtual reality to help your teams understand a challenge that often goes overlooked: invisible disabilities. Our goal is simple: to help you create a workplace where every employee feels seen, respected, and supported.

Why Offer Disability Awareness Training?
- Challenge misconceptions and educate: understanding is the first step towards inclusion. Stereotypes and misconceptions about disability are still widespread and often fueled by a lack of awareness. Training that specifically addresses these myths offers a powerful perspective shift. By letting learners experience the everyday challenges faced by disabled employees, you foster empathy and build awareness across your teams, helping create a more welcoming and equitable work environment.
- Boost team cohesion and performance: once understood, differences can become unique assets. After completing diversity and inclusion training, teams often report greater creativity, innovation, and performance. Disability training helps break down barriers and build a common ground where everyone can contribute fully. Employees feel safer sharing ideas and voicing concerns, creating a healthier collaborative space.
- Stay compliant with legal requirements: inclusion goes beyond ethics: it is also a legal responsibility. Protecting your employees from discrimination is a legal obligation, and training plays a key role in meeting that requirement.
Adding Reverto’s disability training to your diversity and inclusion efforts does more than ensure compliance, it demonstrates a real commitment to building a culture of respect, accessibility, and equal opportunity for all.
Two Key Topics, Two Dedicated Trainings
Invisible
This solution places participants in the daily lives of several professionals as they navigate the challenges of living with invisible disabilities. From cognitive disorders to sensory impairments and chronic diseases, "Invisible" reveals how deeply these conditions can affect daily work life, and why empathy is essential.
I Had No Idea
This training lets you step into the shoes of professionals whose work environments are not adapted to their disabilities, bringing to light the many challenges they face each day.
Learning Objectives of Our Disability Awareness Trainings
Our trainings are built around four essential learning goals:
- Ending stereotypes about disability: we help your teams challenge and dismantle common misconceptions, encouraging a deeper, more accurate understanding of what disability really means in the workplace.
- Defining disability at work:fighting stereotypes about disability in the workplace starts with a clear definition of what it is. Participants are also informed on rights, responsibilities, and best practices that support inclusion.
- Understanding country-specific disability recognition systems: each country has its own official processes for recognising disability status. Reverto has developed three custom modules aligned with the legislation of France, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
- Knowing where to turn for support: participants leave knowing who to contact and how to access help, making it easier for individuals with disabilities to get the accommodations and resources they need.
A Three-Phase Learning Experience
Phase 1: Immersion Module
After a brief introduction, learners dive into a powerful VR experience. They step into the shoes of professionals navigating the challenges of living with invisible disabilities in work environments that aren’t designed to meet their needs. By experiencing how these conditions can impact both performance and social dynamics by causing misunderstanding, judgement, or even rumours, participants build empathy and develop a deeper understanding of their colleagues. They come away with a lasting message: don’t judge too quickly, and always look beyond appearances.
Phase 2: Educational Module
Next, learners unpack the VR experience step by step, with guided analysis and expert insights. Each situation is explored in depth, with clear explanations of the disabilities portrayed. This module also provides practical guidelines on current legislation, possible workplace adjustments, and best practices for disability inclusion in the workplace. Anonymous quizzes before and after the session help measure what participants have learnt, giving you valuable insight into the effectiveness of the training and your organisation’s current culture of inclusion.
Phase 3: Debrief & Group Discussion
The session wraps up with a facilitated group discussion. In a safe, supportive space, participants are encouraged to share impressions, reflect on what they’ve learnt, and talk through how the experience changed their perspective. This dialogue is a valuable opportunity to reinforce team support, clear up any remaining uncertainties, and tailor insights to your organisation’s unique context.
What Our VR Disability Awareness Trainings Bring to the Table
Multi-Sensory Immersion
Built on real-life testimonials, our scenario-based experiences offer participants a powerful, firsthand understanding of the challenges posed by invisible disabilities. VR training allows them to step into situations they may have only heard about such as living with dyslexia, hearing loss, or chronic illness. This shift in perspective helps participants feel the frustration, anxiety, or helplessness that can arise when work expectations clash with conditions that aren't immediately visible. Emotionally engaged with experience, learners develop a deeper and longer-lasting awareness, making them more likely to apply what they’ve learnt in their daily professional lives.
Flexibility and Time-Saving
Our training sessions were designed with busy teams in mind. Each 15-minute module delivers high-impact learning while being easy to schedule without disrupting the workday. In addition to saving time, our VR solutions also require minimal setup and fewer resources than traditional training methods, making them a practical and cost-effective option for your organisation. With Reverto, you get the perfect combination of advanced training, time efficiency, and scalable implementation.
Measurable Positive Impact
Every module we deliver is evaluated for real-world impact. In 2023 alone, 3761 employees completed our Invisible Disability Training:
- Before the experience, only 42% were aware of possible workplace accommodations. After the experience, 75.6% understood how the workplace can be adapted to meet the needs of employees with disabilities.
- Before the experience, only 31.9% knew who to turn to for support. After the experience, 74.7% knew where to find help.
These results speak for themselves: our Invisible Disability Training gives both individuals and organisations the tools to build a truly inclusive work culture where everyone can thrive.
