Why Offer Sexual Harassment Training?
- Improve workplace culture: actively preventing sexual harassment creates a safer, more supportive work environment, boosting employee motivation, engagement, and productivity. When people know they are actively supported, they’re more likely to feel valued and bring their full potential to the table.
- Empower your teams: investing in specialised VR training shows your commitment to building a respectful and equitable workplace. It gives each team member the tools to take an active role in preventing harassment. As a result, employees are more likely to recognise and respond appropriately to problematic behaviours, strengthening your company culture from within.
- Stay compliant with legal requirements: companies are legally required to protect employees from sexual harassment. Failure to comply can lead to fines, litigation, and reputational damage. Training is a powerful way to stay ahead of regulations and demonstrate your company’s proactive approach.
- Encourage open dialogue: sexual harassment training creates a safe space where employees can speak openly about the issues they face without fear of judgement or retaliation. This openness fosters a transparent workplace culture, where concerns are addressed quickly and constructively.
- Enhance your company’s reputation: taking a stand against sexual harassment shows that you prioritise employee safety and well-being, both inside and outside the organisation. That commitment matters not just to your current team but to the skilled professionals you want to attract as well.
Investing in sexual harassment training does more than meet legal requirements: it demonstrates a real, ongoing commitment to the safety, dignity, and well-being of every employee.
Key Learning Objectives of Our Sexual Harassment Training
Our training is built around five essential learning goals:
- Recognising sexual harassment: team members learn to identify the behaviours that constitute sexual harassment, gaining a clear, practical understanding of what it is and how it shows up in the workplace.
- Understanding legal implications: to help ensure ethical and compliant handling of harassment, teams learn three key legal aspects: the legal definition of sexual harassment, the rights of those affected, and the employer’s responsibilities.
- Knowing where to turn for support: whether they’re witnesses or targets, employees will know who to contact and how to get help. We explain the available support channels, such as your HR department or designated harassment advisor.
- Telling the difference between sexism, sexual harassment, and discrimination: participants gain the tools to clearly distinguish these behaviours, helping them respond appropriately and contribute to a respectful, informed culture.
- Responding effectively: team members walk away with concrete strategies for addressing sexual harassment. Whether they’re directly involved or offering support, they’ll be equipped with tools and guidance to take action and help build a safer, more respectful workplace.
A Three-Phase Learning Experience
Phase 1: Immersion Module
After a short introduction, the session begins with an immersive experience. Learners step into the shoes of Juliette, a worker navigating sexual harassment in her workplace. Developed in collaboration with Ariane Conseil, a consulting firm specialising in psychosocial risk prevention, this experience is grounded in real-world expertise. By seeing the situation from both the target’s and the witnesses’ perspectives, learners build empathy and develop a deeper awareness of the emotional and professional consequences of workplace sexual harassment.
Phase 2: Educational Module
Still within the VR environment, learners are guided through step-by-step analysis of the immersion experience. Each scenario is broken down with clear explanations and actionable advice on how to recognise, report, and respond to harassment. Participants learn who they can turn to within your organisation and what steps to take when facing or witnessing harassment. This module also includes anonymous quizzes to assess learning before and after the session, providing insight into training effectiveness and serving as a valuable barometer of your company’s workplace culture.
Phase 3: Debrief & Group Discussion
The session concludes with a facilitated discussion, offering a safe and supportive space for participants to share their impressions, ask questions, and reflect on real-life situations, if they wish to. This moment of discussion is an essential opportunity to deepen both knowledge and the feeling of psychological and moral support, while tailoring insight to your company’s specific context.
What Our VR Sexual Harassment Training Brings to the Table
Multi-Sensory Immersion
Our unique approach uses VR to immerse learners in realistic, scenario-based situations mirroring the types of sexual harassment they may encounter at work. By combining cognitive sciences with high-quality audio and filmmaking, Reverto creates impactful training solutions that boost knowledge retention and drive real behaviour change. Each scenario is designed to leave a lasting impression, helping participants understand the real stakes of sexual harassment and giving them the tools to respond effectively in real life.
Flexibility and Time-Saving
Our sessions last just 15 minutes, making them easy to fit into even the busiest schedules. This short format allows you to train more people without disrupting daily operations. Unlike traditional training, our VR solutions require minimal setup and resources, making them a simple, cost-effective solution to your company’s compliance and prevention goals.
Measurable Positive Impact
Each of our training modules is rigorously evaluated to measure real-world impact. In 2023 alone, 743 participants completed our Sexual Harassment Training:
- Before the experience, only 34.3% knew how to respond to harassment. After the experience, 89.2% knew how to take action.
- Before the experience, only 55.0% knew the legal definition of sexual harassment. After the experience, 90.9% understood the legal definition.
- Before the experience, only 20.8% knew who to turn to for help. After the experience, 88.3% knew where to find support.
These results show what’s possible. By equipping your teams with the knowledge and tools to address sexual harassment, you create a safer, healthier workplace for everyone.
