What is virtual reality training?

Definitions and core principles

Virtual reality’s immersive nature makes it a powerful learning and training tool—especially when its full potential is harnessed through purposeful design. Reverto brings this potential to life by enabling learners to step into realistic environments that simulate human interactions and relationships. VR allows them to engage with lifelike, difficult, and even potentially hazardous situations within a safe, controlled setting.

Wearing a VR headset and headphones isolates the learner from outside stimuli and fully immerses them in the simulated world. This deep sense of immersion creates the feeling of truly being there, prompting their head to move naturally as they follow the action unfolding around them.

Our training methods immerse learners in realistic scenarios that were crafted to accurately reflect challenges they may encounter in the workplace. By stepping into a 360° virtual environment, they become more emotionally engaged with the experience. This heightened engagement not only improves learning retention but also increases their ability to recognise problematic situations and respond to them appropriately.

Through its innovative use of technology, virtual reality training makes learning more effective and relevant to your company’s needs and projects.

Avantages de la formation VR

Total immersion, optimal retention

At Reverto, we harness the unique power of virtual reality to create immersive, multi-sensory training experiences that simulate real-world scenarios involving psychosocial risks. Our method—at the crossroads between cognitive science and cinematic storytelling—ensures that our experiences are both realistic and grounded in scientific accuracy. Learners are immersed in a believable environment that deepens their emotional engagement, enhances memory retention, and offers a nuanced understanding of complex workplace dynamics. By stepping into someone else’s shoes, learners experience new perspectives in a safe and secure virtual setting. This immersive shift in viewpoint helps them apply what they’ve learnt more effectively in their own work environments. Our approach goes beyond simple knowledge transfer. It fosters meaningful behavioural change, shaping how individuals relate to one another and contributing to a healthier, more inclusive workplace culture.

What sets Reverto apart is our ability to offer both great flexibility and simplicity, allowing companies to save substantial time and money over other, more traditional forms of training offering similar levels of learning.

  • A flexible concept: : each VR experience lasts just 15 to 20 minutes, making it easy to integrate even into the busiest workdays; learners do not have to allocate their whole day to the training session.
  • Simplicity : Reverto training sessions only require light equipment and minimal setup, without the added costs and logistical complications of traditional training.
  • Appeal : Our remarkable completion rates combined with the very positive feedback on our experiences—96% of our learners consider our solutions useful—showcase the strong appeal of our virtual reality experiences.

Practical Applications of Virtual Reality in Training

A Technology for All Sectors

VR training modules are especially valuable for organisations that place human relationships at the core of their operations. By using virtual reality, individuals can be trained to better understand, recognise and manage psychosocial risks, leading to a healthier work climate, greater productivity, and improved quality of products and services.

With this logic in mind, we have empowered a wide range of organisations, including:

How to Choose the Right VR Training for Your Needs

Key Selection Criteria

Choosing the right program for your organisation is essential to ensuring a successful training experience. While your specific needs may vary, there are criteria that should always be considered:

Content that meets your needs

The right training solution is one that aligns with your goals and day-to-day realities. Whether you’re looking to build specific skills, improve interpersonal communication, or simply raise awareness about psychosocial risks, Reverto delivers the right training to support your objectives.

Effective training delivers the right amount of relevant information. To make a lasting impact, the pace must align with the learner’s attention span. At Reverto, we place agency at the heart of our teaching approach. We ensure the accuracy and relevance of our training content by working with a dedicated cohort of experts, carefully selected for each of our training themes.

What sets VR training apart is the powerful sense of immersion it creates. When learners feel truly present in the experience—thanks to high-quality filmmaking, spatial audio, and natural interactions—they engage more deeply, both intellectually and emotionally.

Beyond dependable technical assistance, a high-quality VR training provider should also offer educational support that helps you track your learners’ progress.

Protecting your learners’ sensitive information is essential. Before choosing a VR training program, ensure it meets key standards for data security and confidentiality.

Pourquoi adopter la VR dans votre
stratégie de formation

Virtual reality is the next major evolution in the world of organisational training. Reverto’s experiences are designed to target 3 key learning outcomes:

Knowledge

Emotional engagement in personal experiences captivates learners’ attention, boosting knowledge retention.

Learners no longer study situations theoretically—they experience them. This kind of experiential learning fosters a deeper understanding of those realistic situations, building practical, transferable skills.

By putting learners in someone else’s shoes, virtual reality helps develop a vital workplace skill: empathy.

What sets VR apart is time efficiency: its short sessions can be easily integrated into even the busiest schedules. VR is also cost-efficient: it requires fewer resources than traditional methods would need for the same learning retention. VR is an all-in-one solution to modern-day constraints: its flexibility, accessibility, and effectiveness make it a perfectly adapted tool to answer your organisation’s needs.

Bring innovation into your workflow—and give your team the tools to succeed in tomorrow’s workplace.

More About VR Training

Why is VR Training More Impactful Than Traditional Training?

VR completely reframes training by immersing learners in realistic, scenario-based experiences—all within a safe and controlled environment. Reverto harnesses this immersion to create emotionally engaging experiences that leave a lasting impression—making learning more memorable and more effective than traditional methods. Instead of simply hearing about situations, learners experience the situation—boosting retention and confidence to apply new skills after the session.

We measure learning outcomes using anonymous quizzes to track knowledge before and after the experience. Each session also includes a satisfaction survey. Our positive feedback, combined with our high completion rates, confirms the appeal of our solutions.

Quite the contrary! VR is uniquely appealing to a wide range of participants, including those who would not engage with these types of subjects. VR brings an immersive and interactive experience that sparks curiosity and helps participants connect more deeply with the real-world implications. It is an ideal tool to reach broader audiences.

Our solutions immerse learners in realistic situations. This type of experiential learning not only promotes best practices—it also empowers learners to apply their new skills in real contexts, leading to lasting behaviour changes.

Some poorly designed solutions can trigger VR sickness. This phenomenon occurs when you move in the virtual world but remain physically still in the physical world. The eyes perceive forward movement, but the inner ear tells the brain that the body isn’t moving. This sensory mismatch triggers the discomfort known as VR sickness. At Reverto, learner comfort is an absolute priority, which is why our solutions are designed to be static. Because learners remain seated, they do not feel any dissonance between what they see in VR and what they feel in the outside world. While VR may not be suitable for individuals with epilepsy or pacemakers, we prioritise accessibility. That’s why we offer a PC version of each training for those who can’t use a headset.
